I know that gas tank and tach discussions have been posted on the forum before, but it seems that everyone has been looking for 'new' replacement/accesory parts.
I just bought an '86 Savage, 7300 miles, for $500 (decent shape - really good friend). I don't want to put a lot of money into it, but I would really like to relocate the speedo and indicator lights to the handle bars (and possibly add a tach). Of all the years, makes and models, isn't there a stock tank (maybe bigger) that will fit the frame with only minor mods and a gauge cluster (a la Yamaha Maxim) that will work with the big single? I know the current GZ250 is a single with a larger tank and gauges on the bars, but would something similar work on the Savage?
